Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Chanceandtoken website and visits to Chanceandtoken Bistro & Poker Lounge, a physical, land-based venue in Australia. They explain the shared expectations that apply when you explore venue information, make an inquiry, dine, visit the lounge, or join a venue activity.

terms scope

Using these terms

  1. Acceptance through use. By browsing this website, submitting an inquiry, entering the venue, dining with us, attending a poker night, or taking part in venue activities, you agree to follow these Terms and Conditions. They apply to the physical, land-based Australian bistro and poker lounge and to the information we make available online. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website or proceed with a visit or activity.
  2. Covered experiences. These terms cover craft mixology, steakhouse gastronomy, the poker lounge, offline poker, poker tables, the card poker room, poker nights, and poker strategy content. These are venue experiences and informational materials offered in connection with Chanceandtoken. They are not presented as an online or financial service. Specific event notices, room guidance, menus, and staff directions may add practical detail for a particular visit.
  3. Venue discretion. Chanceandtoken may reasonably update operations, access conditions, schedules, offerings, room arrangements, and house guidelines when needed. We may do this to support a safe, welcoming, and workable venue experience. Notices displayed at the venue and reasonable directions from staff apply alongside these terms. Where a direction is necessary for the room or an event, visitors are expected to follow it promptly.
Staff directions and venue notices are part of the practical guidance for every visit.

Venue entry, dining and service

Entry and identification. Visitors must comply with applicable entry requirements and provide identification where staff reasonably request it for venue access or service. This helps the team manage the physical venue responsibly in Australia. Where a requirement for entry or service cannot be met, Chanceandtoken may decline entry, restrict access to a particular area, or decline to provide the relevant service. We ask visitors to raise any practical questions with the team before entering a space or beginning an activity.

Bistro service and offerings

Chanceandtoken combines steakhouse gastronomy with craft mixology, and menu items, dietary discussions, seating, and service availability can vary from visit to visit. Please communicate dietary needs or relevant access needs with the venue team before service where practical, so the team can consider them in context. Information on the website is useful for planning, but it is not a promise that a particular dish, table, ingredient, or service arrangement will be available at the time of your visit.

The venue team can confirm current options and practical arrangements when responding to an inquiry or during your visit.

house conduct

Respectful enjoyment

We ask every visitor to help keep the bistro and lounge comfortable for staff and other guests. Respectful conduct includes the following expectations:

  • Treat staff and fellow visitors with courtesy and follow reasonable safety instructions.
  • Do not engage in disruptive, threatening, discriminatory, or damaging conduct.
  • Respect room arrangements, shared furnishings, and the enjoyment of nearby guests.

Where reasonably necessary, Chanceandtoken may refuse service, remove a visitor from a space, or end participation in an activity.

card room terms

Offline poker and card poker room participation

offline poker Poker activity at Chanceandtoken is social offline poker conducted in person at physical poker tables and in the card poker room. Guests joining a poker night or another room activity must follow staff instructions, displayed room guidance, and the announced format for that occasion. The poker lounge is a shared hospitality space, and participation depends on respectful conduct, practical room capacity, and the guidance provided by the venue team.

table conduct

Table conduct and fair participation

  • Please take seats and turns in an orderly way, and allow staff to manage table movement where needed.
  • Handle cards and table equipment with care, and keep participation considerate for new and returning guests.
  • Do not engage in conduct that undermines a welcoming social environment at the poker tables or in the poker lounge.

Staff may pause, reseat, or end participation where this is reasonably necessary for the room, the activity, or other visitors.

format guidance

House formats and poker strategy

Poker strategy discussions, demonstrations, hosted formats, table procedures, and poker night guidance may differ by event. They are provided for social, educational, or venue-experience purposes and may be adjusted to suit the room. Chanceandtoken does not promise a particular format or outcome. If an announced format changes, staff directions and current event notices take precedence over earlier descriptions, general strategy material, or informal expectations.

Souvenir chips, point standings and honor awards

Any souvenir game chips, point standings, or honor awards are venue-experience items or recognition features governed by relevant house guidance. They are not described as having financial value or exchangeability. The venue team may reasonably correct recording, scoring, display, or administrative errors so that room information remains clear and consistent for participants.

visit planning

Reservation inquiries and venue changes

An inquiry is not a confirmation. A poker table reservation inquiry or group request is reviewed by the venue team and does not itself guarantee a table, room position, dining arrangement, or poker night place.

  1. Inquiry is not confirmation. Confirmation depends on a response from Chanceandtoken. This distinction applies to arrangements connected with the poker lounge and, where relevant, bistro visits. Please wait for a clear response from the venue before treating an arrangement as confirmed. The team may need to consider existing venue activity, room configuration, group needs, and practical availability before responding to a request.
  2. Accurate request details. Please provide accurate contact details and relevant visit information when making an inquiry, and notify the venue promptly if your plans change. This helps the team communicate clearly and consider the request appropriately. Our handling of personal information is described separately in the privacy policy; these terms do not replace that policy or ask you to provide information that is not relevant to your inquiry.
please note

Changes, timing and availability

Chanceandtoken may reasonably adjust arrangements because of operational needs, capacity, safety, staffing, or event requirements. We will seek to communicate material changes using the contact details supplied for an inquiry, but availability and timing cannot be guaranteed. We appreciate visitors keeping their details current and remaining flexible where the venue needs to make a practical adjustment for the wider room or service.

shared spaces

Safety, photography and personal property

Safety and staff directions. Visitors must follow reasonable safety, emergency, access, and staff directions while in the bistro, poker lounge, card poker room, and surrounding venue areas. Access to an area may be limited where necessary for safety, operations, cleaning, a hosted activity, or the comfort of others. If you are unsure about an instruction or an area, please ask a team member before proceeding. These practical measures help the venue remain orderly and welcoming for everyone present.

Photography and recording

Please put privacy and comfort first. Guests should respect other visitors and staff when taking photographs or recordings, particularly around poker tables and poker night activity. A room may include people who prefer not to be photographed or interrupted. Staff may ask you to stop recording or not take imagery in a particular area where that is reasonable for privacy, room flow, or visitor comfort. Please follow that request without delay.

Personal property and venue equipment. Visitors remain responsible for their personal belongings and should treat furnishings, cards, poker tables, and other venue property with care.

  • Keep personal items attended and avoid blocking shared paths or tables.
  • Use cards, seating, table surfaces, and other equipment only as intended.
  • Raise a concern about damage or loss with the team as soon as practical.

Prompt communication gives the team the best opportunity to understand what has occurred and respond appropriately.
